About Dawn Beaumont

Dawn is a lot of things.

She is a wife to Kurt and fur parent to Archie.
Its hard to nail down in just a few words, but lets try
dedicated, positive, ambitious, resilient, bloody loud, determined, selfless and beautiful!
She has been cycling for years, and over the past 9 years decided that running suit her well, completing multiple endurance events across Australia.

Did we mention how loud she is?

Its been a lead up for the last 2 years, one to go.

Running, riding, strength and mobility, preparing myself for the biggest challenge of my life. I have been working with my running coach Riley Cocks from RunAsOne, my strength coach Zoe Toland and my Daddio as cycling coach.

FAQ

  • Where does the Queen of Hearts name come from?
    Long answer: Based on the queen of hearts playing card, and the premise that most of us are gambling with our health and don't prioritise it. word play. Short answer: came about over a glass of shiraz in the barossa.
  • What about your recovery between it all?
    Baths are my best friend, eat, social media, plan my weeks ahead, its try my hand at multitasking. Fuelling, living on pillar to help replenish, plus active recovery and cant forget Normatecs.
  • How will your trip work?
    Everyday I will be running 15km to start, then riding 80km, and the lacing up the shoes again for another 7km. This break up of exercise will give me the greatest chances of staying injury free during the 200 days.
  • Why Dawnie, why?
    Running Pink, Debra D Williams, ran around AUS for Breast Cancer Research, I read it when injured about a year after my mum had her heart issues and with support from Kurt, my husband, we decided to do this properly and start the journey to 2025.
  • How do you fit the training load in with full time work?
    25 hours of training work a week and increasing. There’s 24 hours in a day 8 hours to sleep, 8 hours to work, 8 hours to figure the rest out.
